Introducing Professor Robert P. Watson
Dr. Watson is a Professor of American Studies at Lynn University and a Senior Fellow at the Florida Joint Center for Citizenship. He is an award winning academic, media commentator, and author.
Specializing in American history and politics, Dr. Watson has served as a visiting fellow or scholar with over a dozen organizations across the United States. His ground-breaking work has earned him numerous awards, including for his contributions to the study of the presidency (International Abraham Lincoln Center), for the civics and history programs he offers to schools (Children’s Hero Award), and for his election commentary and the voting guides he distributes to schools and media outlets (League of Women Voters’ Good Government Award).
Dr. Watson is just as active outside of academia: from organizing voter registration drives to moderating political debates, he is recognized for his community engagement. He has co-founded three non-profits dedicated to civic engagement, political reform, and fact checking political ads. He has been interviewed thousands of times by media outlets including CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, USA Today, The New York Times, and the BBC. In addition, he has appeared on Hardball with Chris Matthews, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, C-SPAN, and Voice of America among many other shows.

This lecture will reveal some of the most intriguing but little-known affairs in the White House, raising questions about the role of the media, the privacy of public officials, and the character of leaders.
